Friday was a pretty easy going day. Since my nieces are on Easter vacation, I took them out for mini golf, lunch, and dessert. It was crazy to see my 8 yr old niece get a hole in one, let alone my 6 yr old niece get TWO holes in one! I was friggin' amazed. Sometimes I wish I was a kid again. They were up 8am and had plenty of energy to even go outside afterwards and play for like 4 hours...wow...anyways, I hit up my usual food shopping and finished up laundry. Eating right is key, so I tend to pick up the usual food every week: skim milk, eggs, w/w bread, yams, fruit, water, etc. I hit the gym last night around 830pm, since they were closing at 10pm. I had a great arm work out and really took my time with it. I seen this skinny black kid using 30lbs dumbbells to do bicep curls and looked RIDICULOUS. First rule of thumb in weightlifting: don't be a show off and try to lift something that you can't. It's more about form and contraction than weight. But then again, if you're lifting a 2lb dumbbell, you're not working anything out. I don't know guys. I'm really starting to hate this gym. It has way too many teenagers and the weight room is limited. I'm possibly changing over to Aspen Fitness, which is up the road. I heard that they have more weights and there is no contract. Plus, you only have to pay 10 bucks/month. Then again, I have Powerhouse gym and World gym up the road from me as well. I'll consider this in the next couple of months. Anyways, I just finished my morning coffee to wake me up and I'm off to hit the gym for some cardio, even though my legs are a little sore from Thursdays leg workout. I'd love to rest, but I've been bitten by the gym bug, so I can't just sit home and do nothing.
